Cabai Besar/Merah, Capsicum Annuum

Couple days ago a close friend of mine (also a chili head) asked me, "What's the difference between Cabai Besar and Cabai Merah?"

Cabai Besar is Cabai Merah or "big red chili". They are of genus Capsicum. Capsicum Annuum to be precise. To use the term Cabai Besar/Merah will be depending on where you are in south east asia. The term Cabai Besar is most commonly used in Malaysia. Whereas the term Cabai/Cabe Merah is used in Indonesia.
